Purchased a new HP Pavilion PC after verifying Windows 7 Compatibility of my HP LaserJet 4V Printer. Microsoft's Windows 7 website said it WAS compatible. However, after buying the new PC and trying to locate the LaserJet 4V 64-bit driver I find that HP's Website says there is NO DRIVER. So, for now I can't install or use my LaserJet 4V printer any longer. The LaserJet 4V Connection will be via EtherNet Port on my Cisco/Linksys WRT610 Router for sharing between a couple of PCs. Does anyone know the real status of the driver or why MS shows the LaserJet 4V is compatible and HP implies by the lack of a driver that it is not? Windows 7/Windows Update was already set to Automatic Updating. The Page you refer to talks about a 'USB' connection from which Windows 7 detects the device. However, the HP LaserJet 4V does not have a USB Port and none of my computers have a Parallel Port anymore. I want to connect the 4V the way it used to be connected to my two PCs with XP - that is, via an EtherNet port on my Router. It worked great on that setup for years. Now trying to get it to work the same way on my router with the Windows 7 PC. HP's 'partner' Supportrix to whom I was referred by HP's Desktop Support group was unable to get the printer up and said they could not find a driver to download either - after paying them for their support. They were given remote access to my PCs and Router but could not get the LaserJet up - no matter how many ways they tried to 'install' it. I'm caught in the middle of HP, MS and HP's 'partner' -- never dreamed this would be any big deal! Again, the Router is a CISCO/LinkSys WRT610N, the PC is an HP E9280T with factory installed Windows 7 Home Premium. By the way, I CAN get to this Printer via the subject router from my other PC running XP - works fine because it has a driver - cabling problems or other suspect issues! And it was HP's 'partner' SupporTrix that configured the Router and PC with XP to connect to the printer - they just could not get the Windows 7 PC configured. Any other way to just download the required driver -- the way they've always been downloaded?
